Oversized art images that fill an entire wall (often looking like a painting). The newest work from art photographer Scott Takeda.

  • This is another piece of art that fills a sizeable portion of a wall (3.3 feet wide and 2.5 feet high). This is a color giclèe, where the colors are sprayed onto a canvas. The canvas is then stretched over a two-inch-thick frame, with a full-amage wrap. It literally looks like an oil painting. This gives the piece a three-dimensional quality that is different than the standard piece of art. Email me if you'd like to see what this looks like installed. I photographed the image while walking the rainy streets outside of Brown University in Providence. The light was just right when I spotted the shot, and I couldn't resist firing off a few shots.
  • This is an impressive installation and has to be seen in person to fully appreciate. It looks like a huge tree framed by a 12-panel window. The total size is 52' wide by 84' high (4.3 feet by 7 feet). It is constructed of twelve panels 16x20 in size. Each panel is mounted on a core board and given a one-inch lift from the wall. Many people say it looks like a painting. However I've done very little Photoshop manipulation. I currently have this installation in the stairway, and it fills the space. Email me to see photos.
  • This artwork fills a sizeable portion of a wall (4.2 feet wide and 2.5 feet high). It looks like an oil painting, and I treat the surface so it has the texture of a canvas; and it comes with a custom wood frame. I took this shot in my backyard of some tulips. I had purchased the bulbs for these tulips when my wife and I had first started dating. I had a hunch that she was special.  I think she was a little confused because they were just bulbs, not a bouquet of flowers that I had been giving her. However I had a feeling that we were at least going to last until the spring when they'd come up. And we did. Now every year, she and I have a reminder of my hunch.
  • Most photos of Machu Picchu show just the ancient Inka ruins, however I like this panoramic image because it shows the ruins in the context of Peru's Sacred Valley where they have sat for centuries. The Valle Segrado is the heartland of the Inka Empire. They considered it magical because of its abundant ability to sustain life. From this vantage point, you can see the ruins on the left and the stunning Andes Mountain peaks that tower above and form the Sacred Valley. I took this image on the fourth day of a trek through the Sacred Valley to reach Machu Picchu. For me this image is also sacred because I took it on the morning after I asked my lovely bride to marry me.
