New York Festivals Adds Takeda To Jury

For the second straight year, the New York Festivals Television and Film Awards have asked director/producer Scott Takeda to judge entries in the prestigious international contest.  He joins other award-winning directors, producers, writers, and actors from around the globe on a Grand Jury Panel that includes industry professionals from HBO (US), The Edge Picture Company (UK), Cortical Studios (Netherlands), and South Pacific Pictures (New Zealand).

"I am so excited," said Takeda. "The entries I judged last year were amazing. No exaggeration. It was very hard to critique them because the talent level was so elite. Many of the films and shows were nominees and winners of Emmys, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes, so the entries were literally the best-of-the-best going head-to-head. That's why I love entering my work in the Festivals. And now that's why I'm am so jazzed to be on the Grand Jury again."

Earlier this Spring, Takeda and his creative team won a Silver WorldMedal from the New York Festivals for a mini-documentary film on AIDS Awareness. In previous years, he's won a Gold WorldMedal as well as another Silver, a Bronze, and three Finallist nominations.

Winners of the 2012 Television and Film Awards for the World's Best TV and Film will be announced at a gala ceremony held April 17th in conjunction with the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
